Experienced Help When a Dental Problem Cannot Wait
An emergency visit begins with finding the source of your pain or damage. We examine the affected area and may use digital imaging to see what is happening beneath the surface. Once we understand the problem, we explain the treatment options that fit your diagnosis.
Dr. Aaron Paz earned his DDS with honors from New York University and completed an internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where his experience included endodontic and oral surgery cases. He has practiced implantology since 2003 and has experience with dental implant fabrication and placement.
We have treated more than 50,000 patients since opening in Whittier in 2003. If you want to learn more about the people providing your care, you can meet our dentists.
Atlantic Dental & Orthodontics provides personalized care for adults and children, with an English- and Spanish-speaking dental team available to help you understand your options.
A Patient’s Experience with Caring, Professional Treatment

I’ve been a patient at Atlantic Dental Group since 2019, and I can’t recommend them enough. When I developed a severe tooth infection that kept getting worse, Dr. Tamir and Dr. Paz were able to save one of my infected teeth. Unfortunately, the other tooth required an implant because the infection had spread too far. The entire team is knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely cares about their patients. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and professional. I’m extremely happy with the care I’ve received and continue to come back for my regular dental cleanings. If you’re looking for a dental office you can trust, Atlantic Dental Group is the place to go.Posted on Google![]()

I can't recommend Atlantic Dental Group enough. I just met a patient in the lobby who flew in from the East Coast just to be treated here after getting a recommendation from someone they met. That says a lot. From the doctors and staff to the office itself, everything is exceptional. You will not meet nicer, caring, more talented doctors. Their pricing is exceptionally reasonable, and the quality of care is outstanding. You won't be disappointed!

If pain, swelling, or dental damage develops while you are in Whittier, call us and describe what happened. We can help determine how promptly you should be examined.
Treatment for Urgent Dental Damage in Whittier
The right treatment depends on whether the affected tooth can be repaired. We first evaluate the source and extent of the problem before recommending care.
A severely damaged or infected tooth may need to be removed when it cannot be predictably restored. We examine the tooth and surrounding structures before recommending an emergency tooth extraction in Whittier.
When removal is the appropriate next step, same-day tooth extraction may help address the source of an urgent dental problem. Your dentist will explain the procedure and what to expect afterward.
Dental Problems That Need Prompt Attention
Not every uncomfortable tooth requires the same treatment. These are common reasons to contact a Whittier emergency dentist for an evaluation.
Severe or Persistent Tooth Pain
A toothache that becomes intense, does not settle, or hurts when you bite may be related to decay, inflammation, infection, or damage inside the tooth. An examination helps us identify the cause instead of treating pain alone.
Cracked, Chipped, or Broken Teeth
A damaged tooth may have a sharp edge, sensitivity, or pain while chewing. Bring any broken pieces with you if possible and avoid chewing on that side until the tooth has been evaluated.
Dental Swelling or Possible Infection
Swelling near a tooth, in the gums, or along the jaw can signal an infection that needs prompt attention. Call us if swelling appears with tooth pain, drainage, or an unpleasant taste.
If swelling interferes with breathing or swallowing, seek emergency medical attention immediately.
Lost or Damaged Dental Restorations
A missing filling or crown can expose sensitive tooth structure and make the tooth vulnerable to further damage. Save a loose crown if you still have it, avoid household adhesives, and arrange an examination.
Digital Imaging for Faster Emergency Answers
During an emergency examination, digital imaging can help us evaluate the affected tooth, its roots, and nearby structures. This information supports accurate diagnosis and allows us to explain why a particular treatment may be recommended.
The goal is to move from uncertainty to a clear plan based on what we see during your examination.
Insurance, Payment, and Financing Options
The cost of emergency dental care depends on the problem and the treatment needed. We can discuss available payment options and help you understand the financial side of your recommended care.
Wendy Maestas-Padilla shared that our team worked with her on financing while she received extensive dental treatment.

Rinse your mouth gently, avoid chewing with the damaged tooth, and save any pieces you can find. Call our Greenleaf Avenue office so we can evaluate how deeply the tooth was damaged.
Does severe tooth pain always mean I need an extraction?
No. Tooth pain can have several causes, and treatment depends on the condition of the tooth. We examine the area and may take digital images before explaining whether the tooth can be treated or should be removed.
How much does an emergency dentist visit in Whittier cost?
The cost depends on the examination, imaging, diagnosis, and treatment required. We will explain the recommended care and available payment options after evaluating the problem.
When should dental swelling be treated as a medical emergency?
